Dri-FIT material is a beautiful thing . If you have read my other Nike-related reviews, you probably know what this stuff does. But if you don't, here is a quick synopsis.

The FIT stands for Functional Innovative Technology. It is a two-layer system that keeps you dry and comfortable by moving perspiration from your skin to the outside of the shirt, where it can easily and rapidly evaporate. It works with you to maintain a more stable body temperature through a difficult workout. So, you don't feel weighed down by a sopping-wet shirt that clings to your body with annoying seams. I can't get enough of this material, as the system is tested and true, not some gimmick. You can actually feel your body getting cooler with every passing minute as you sweat, which ia a great sensation.

The stretchy, second-skin fit results in muscle stabilization while still letting your body move where it wants to. Whenever I would lift a weight, bike or run this shirt let me do it with ease and let me feel as though sweat was just a minor thing that was brushed aside by this powerful fabric. The fit is just unbelievably. If it feels tight, it's supposed to. It's not supposed to hang off your body; that would ruin the concept of muscle stabilization. So, I would advise not to get a larger size, even though you might think you want to. I wear a small and believe me I am no "small".

This is great for a layering system, such as to wear under a uniform, but also just as a plain shirt to wear to lift or run in. Make sure you do not allow the garment to lay on itself when wet and remove immediately from the washer. It's recommended that you wash in cold water and allow to line dry. That may seem like a pain, but they dry incredibly fast, another measure of its moisture management. It is made of the following materials:

-82% polyester

-18% spandex

Sometimes any heat transfers applied to the Dri-FIT material may shed once the shirt is stretched but it's not that big of a deal.

So, if you want a great shirt for working out, layering, use as a baselayer under uniforms, or any other activity that makes you sweat, pick one up. You won't be disappointed.

I just got two from DIck's Sporting Goods and they're sweet. One says: STRONG IS The New Beautiful (white with black lettering) and the other says TRY2 KEEP UP (Black with white and pink lettering). I couldn't find any images to show but if you're near a Dick's Sporting Goods store check it out. Dri-FIT isn't cheap. I think each shirt costs about $25.00.

Here's an old shot of another cool Dri-FIT shirt from NIKE:

This one's actually on sale at NIKE.com
